Noirvember

Each November, cinephiles, distributors and theaters around the world turn their focus to one of the classic genres of old Hollywood- the film noir. Here in Catskill we’re closer to farms than cities, but you may be surprised to to learn that this usually city-bound genre has traveled outside the concrete jungle many times.

This November, we’re showing three films that exemplify the “small town noir”; Charles Laughton’s Southern Gothic thriller Night Of The Hunter, Elia Kazan’s Arkansas-set satirical take on the genre, A Face In the Crowd, and the Western neo-noir Red Rock West, featuring Nicolas Cage and Dennis Hopper.
