The first installment of an already-classic modern trilogy, X follows a motley group of young people as they do what anyone might do in a rural Texas farmhouse in 1979: make an adult film. They know they’ll have to keep the truth of their visit away from the religious elderly couple who owns the place, but the wife, Pearl, seems intent on watching — perhaps even joining — and won’t take “no” for an answer. Featuring Mia Goth in a scream-filled double role, as well as a pre-Wednesday Jenna Ortega, Scott Mescudi (better known as Kid Cudi), and even an uncredited Larry Fessenden.
