A pastor, community organizer, and former journalist, Marie opens her home in an increasingly anti-immigrant Tunisia to three generations of migrant women from the Ivory Coast. Naney desperately seeks a better life for herself and her daughter. Ambitious Jolie believes her student visa will protect her from the regime’s aggressive racism. Five-year-old Kenza is the only survivor of a shipwreck carrying refugees to Tunisia. As the four grow closer in this makeshift family, they must grapple with their shared and individual battles to both thrive and survive.
