Adapted verbatim from newly discovered transcripts between legendary photographer Peter Hujar and writer Linda Rosenkrantz, Peter Hujar’s Day is just that: an account of the events of Hujar’s day, as recounted by Hujar. His meditation on his day extends from the quotidian to the profound, from Susan Sontag to Allen Ginsberg, from the little moments of gay Manhattan life in 1974 to those universal struggles of the human condition, and everything in-between. This latest film from Ira Sachs (Passages) explores life in minute detail, featuring arresting performances from Ben Whishaw and Rebecca Hall.
