For this edition of Sleepover Saturday, we’re diving into the 1994 post-apocalyptic video game adaptation: Double Dragon! Set in a ravaged “New Angeles” circa 2007, brothers Jimmy and Billy Lee (Mark Dacascos and Scott Wolf) join forces with a scrappy band of vigilantes — led by Who’s the Boss star Alyssa Milano — to harness an ancient magic and take down the wicked crime lord Koga Shuko, played by T2’s Robert Patrick. With cinematography from the DP behind They Live and Prince of Darkness, the film channels a punk-soaked 80s/90s energy that owes more than a little to RoboCop. The screening will feature an introduction and trivia from drag hostess Glam Stroker, fun giveaways, and a brand new video game–themed preshow.
